BioEnerGIS stakeholder’s event in Slovenia Slovenian partners of the projects BioEnerGIS and Make-it-be organized joint event to present the results of both projects to the Slovenian stakeholders. Main result of the project BioEnerGIS is BIOPOLE, which is the is the GIS (Geographic Information System) – based Decision Support System developed with the aim of combining supply and demand side, regional legislation, technological options, social acceptability and economical facts in order to produce maps of the optimal localization of new biomass plants. The Role of Bioenergy in the National Renewable Energy Action Plans More than half of the renewable energy which EU Member States expect to consume annually by 2020 will consist of bioenergy, e.g. biomass, bioliquids and biofuels. This is revealed in a first evaluation of the proposed scale of deployment of bioenergy by the EU Member States in the period to 2020 as forecast in their National Renewable Energy Action Plans (NREAPs).
